Health Reform Foundation of Nigeria (HERFON) emerged in 2004 from the highly successful DFID Programme,  Change Agents Programme (CAP). HERFON was set up as a result of financial support for an accountable grant of £3.5 million for four years from DFID. Its main objective is to support the Federal Ministry of Health in achieving its health sector reform.

DFID commissioned GRID to manage this accountable grant, implement a strong financial management system and provide technical assistance to facilitate and enhance the financial management capacity of HEFRON in order to enable full accountability and transparency in the program.

Within HEFRON, we created a simple and user friendly computerised accounting system with a chart of accounts designed to track all funds received and subsequent expenditure in accordance with standard operations and accounting procedures.
