PATHS is a £54 million
four year
project
funded by DFID
that was set up to
improve the delivery and use of
effective, replicable,
affordable health services for
the management of common health
problems in Nigeria
so as to
enhance governance in the health
sector. |
|
The core partners in
implementing this programme were
HLSP (UK), Liverpool Association
in Tropical Health, Health
Partners International (HPI),
the John Hopkins University
centre for communication USA,
and GRID. |
|
This project
uses GRID as the
prime Nigerian
partner.
GRID therefore
played the major
role in
establishing the
Nigerian
offices,
sourcing and
employing the
Nigerian staff,
and providing
financial
management
(cross-cutting)
backstopping
across all the
technical
outputs of the
programme. This included
setting up
accounting
systems within
the health
sector at all
levels, and operationalising
systems for
ensuring
sustainable drug
supply at health
facilities. |
